On May 29th, Arcas Building Solutions was proud to join fellow subsidiaries and partners of Northern Bear PLC at the group’s tenth annual charity golf day, held at the beautiful Ramside Hall Golf Club. While the skies may have been grey, the spirit of the event was anything but dampened, as teams came together to raise vital funds for St Oswald’s Hospice—a charity close to the hearts of many across the North East.
The day began with a hearty breakfast to kick off the day, giving participants a chance to catch up and fuel up before heading out onto the course for a shotgun start. Despite the drizzle, the enthusiasm was high, and the camaraderie even higher. Among those representing Arcas on the green were Adam Carter, Michael Downey, Michael Nesbit, and Paul Broom, all ready to tackle the course for a great cause. Along the way, players were treated to refreshments at the halfway house and a welcome selection of pies to keep the energy up during the round.
As a valued part of the Northern Bear group, Arcas was proud to take part in what has become a staple of the group’s calendar, not just for the golf, but for the impact. The charity day is a testament to Northern Bear’s commitment to supporting local communities and services like St Oswald’s Hospice, whose work touches the lives of so many families in the region.
The evening saw guests come together for a well-earned three-course dinner, followed by entertainment, a prize auction, and the announcement of the day’s winning teams. One of the most moving parts of the evening came when Jill and Megan, mothers of Lucy and Sophia, shared heartfelt stories about their daughters’ experiences at St Oswald’s Children and Young Adults Service. Their words were a powerful reminder of the hospice’s incredible work and the importance of continued support.
Sonia Graham, Fundraising Manager – Corporate at St Oswald’s Hospice, praised the event as a “huge success” and thanked all attendees for their generosity. Events like these make it possible for the hospice to continue delivering care and support to patients, families, and communities across the North East.
